blushing for our fall flowers…

October 13, 2010

Fall is such an amazing time for a wedding. We had the pleasure of doing two this past Sunday in Nantucket. I wanted to post some of the images I took while awaiting the professional photography…

The one was inspired by the mason jars with a hint of blue among an all-white palette, while both where garden style and oh, so feminine. Soft palettes of feminine blush colors, roses in cream, blush and white were the main focus, while one bride wanted some grey’s which we brought in with dusty miller and sage.  The fun surprise addition was the beach wheat we found in cream and tan growing wild, and incorporated that into some of the bouquets to add a bit of vintage style.

An element that really added to the style of these bouquets was the ribbon, and we shared our inspiration here. You will see one bride was adorned with a fabric ruche, and the other with a button adorning shades of green and brown.  We layered burlap ribbon on both, one layered with silk blush fabric and topped with another ribbon and a ruche.  The other was layered with grey organza, burlap, and a button bringing in the chocolate brown of the bridesmaids dresses.

The colors of tan, blush and white just are my absolute favorite feminine colors for a fall wedding – wouldn’t you agree?
