growing up, my mother had plants everywhere. huge ones, mini ones, + all sizes in between.  even if a little flower broke off its stem, we put it in water, so our window-sil often was full of just that… especially with my flower-picking fingers.  i love that i am seeing plants throughout decor lately.  to me it is an intrical part of design adding life + serenity into a space. especially against my crisp white walls. it is the perfect way to add some warmth + outdoors into a space.

what do you think? do you love plants in your home as part of your design?

I’d love to add some indoor plants — but all our windowsills are about 18″ off the floor…and I have a 2-year-old. I’m imagining lots and lots and lots of vases with broken leaves and blossoms ;)

Gina – happy to see you here:) i understand! i have been fortunate with my 15 month old, that she has gotten used to having the plants, so they haven’t posed much of a problem.. unless of course those few times she decides to start digging!
