my home || office studio
so today is the final day of the home tour. we are ending with my office studio. as you’ve learned, i like little clutter + bright light + freshness. this room is no different. i do really try to keep the desk as clutter-free as possible. sometimes the magnet board has to-do lists, sometimes just messages, sometimes nothing + remains a clean palette.
the art above the desk on the shelf was my 92 year old grandmothers. it is the most color i have in the whole home, but love love it. i love the modern deco style of impressionism + the little fashionista ladies walking down the street. it reminds me of my 92 year old grandmother who was always on top of her fashion looking her best, + would not leave the bedroom without “her face on”. i’ve been so lucky to be surrounded by such strong + powerful women . … and those vintage boxers were my fathers when he was a kid – another piece of inspiration at eyes-level.
collecting the old + new is what’s happening on this vintage furniture piece from the ’50’s. a collection of my art, grandmothers pottery, my mothers pieces + lots of books. its that mix that brings a little nostalgia but modern to the piece. this piece as well as the shelving over the desk help to add some additional height to the room.
to the left i mixed a eames ottoman with the west elm everett chair. as you’ve seen for accessories, i fused some brass throughout with the little vintage bowls i hung on the wall, the plantar on the side table + the desk chair.
i got the rug at ikea – and absolutely adore it. it is the colors of a charcoal sketch in a menswear tweed pattern.
so that rounds up my home tour. thanks again to simply grove + style me pretty living for posting my tour. in case you missed it, my living room, dining nook , bedroom, guest room, + past posts on the nursery + bath.
